Fall CBC Choral & Orchestra Concert – November 26

An alien comes from another planet to do a bit of sightseeing and to see or start a war. He thinks he has arrived in time to see the Civil War, which he expects will be jolly, but he has misjudged his landing and gets here in 1957. This interplanetary visitor, who can read human minds, and even have an enchanting conversation with a Siamese cat, plops himself into an average community whose population includes an average general, an average boy and girl in love, an average TV newscaster and an above-average cat.

Toy Train Christmas (Toppenish) – November 30 & December 1


Northern Pacific Railway Museum, 10 Asotin Ave. in Toppenish
From 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. each day
Admission: $8 for adults and $5 for kids 12 and under

Toy Train Christmas is intended to bring back the days of old when toy trains were common around the Christmas tree. Using this theme we have set up over 40 model trains from Z scale to the real thing, a train that transports kids of all ages to see Santa Claus.

There are many hands on activities for the kids including crafts projects and toy trains designed for younger children to operate. The short caboose ride from the depot to the “North Pole” to see Santa is a child’s delight at any age. Incidentally one passenger on record has believed in Santa for 102 years. Hot chocolate and cookies are on the house courtesy of Santa.

The Best of Bette… A Tribute to the Divine Miss M – November 30 & December 1


The Academy of Children’s Theatre, 213 Wellsian Way in Richland

The evening will pay tribute to the Divine Miss M by replicating her infamous stage show highlighted by live performances of her long list of popular songs. Enjoy the spot-on portrayal of Bette Midler by local celebrity Cathy Kelly who weaves her way thru the life and times of Bette in stories and song. Steve Haberman and 7 Wheel Drive along with Melina Hall and Trish Thompson complete the cast of this one of a kind musical experience. All proceeds from the show will support the ACT Theatre Expansion Project.

Senske Holiday Light Show – December 1-31


Senske Services, 400 N Quay in Kennewick
Nightly from 5 p.m. – 11:30 pm.
Cost: free but donations are being collected for 2nd Harvest

The annual holiday light show at Senske headquarters is a proud tradition. They put up more than 500,000 holiday lights in an animated display open to the public. Lights are synced with music creating a beautiful melody of dancing holiday lighting.

Senske partners with 2nd Harvest to raise awareness and accept non-perishable food and cash donations for those in need. Dutch Bros. Coffee and Between the Buns will be on hand providing hot food and drinks with proceeds going to 2nd Harvest. Photos with Santa are available with every donation.

Get all your holiday shopping done early at the Gallery at the Park in Richland! The gallery will be hosting the Allied Arts Association’s Gallery Aglow event.

During this event, you can also buy wreaths, trees and other holiday décor. These items were all made by Allied Arts volunteers, and the proceeds go toward funding the Allied Arts Association, which in turn gives back to the community.

One aspect of photography that compels her is using the camera to play with perspective. She lives and works in Walla Walla, Washington. The exhibit runs through November 26.

The Bechtel National Planetarium, located on the campus of Columbia Basin College in Pasco, provides life-like, high-definition images and sound using the most state-of-the-art projection system in the Pacific Northwest. The 36-foot panoramic viewing dome can simulate a 3-D effect.

A typical hour-long show includes a 20-30 minute live presentation and a 25-30 minute full-dome movie. Presentation topics may include solar system or constellation tours, what’s visible in the current night sky, and astronomy in the news.

LIGO Public Tours

Come take a look at LIGO! On the second Saturday of every month we offer free public drop in tours that will give you an excellent look at our facility. Tours usually last about two hours. Tours work best for participants of middle school age and up, but all ages are welcome.
