Community Science and Technology Seminar Series – Getting to Net Zero: CO2 Removal, Use and Sequestration – July 13, 2021

Virtually via Zoom
From 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Free to attend – must register for this Zoom session

Join Pacific Northwest National Laboratory’s next Community Science and Technology Seminar presented by Casie Davidson, Senior Scientist.

Reducing global greenhouse gas emissions to zero by mid-century will require all the renewable and nuclear generation, grid-integrated energy storage, and electrification humanity can attain over the next 30 years. But the global consensus from organizations like the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine is that these technologies alone cannot get us to net zero. We’ll also need technologies for removing carbon dioxide (CO2) from industrial emissions and from the atmosphere, converting it to long-lived products where we can, and putting the rest into the deep subsurface for safe permanent storage.

Come learn about CO2 mitigation technologies, and how they might deploy at scale – globally and in the Pacific Northwest.
