Joveeta and her mother, Caprice, have an ongoing battle to keep spitfire Caprice out of the local bar. Joveeta’s brother, Baby Crumpler, is continually starting and stopping employment. Joveeta’s best friend, Georgia Deen, continually takes in strays, animals, or humans. Then there is Big Ethyl Satterwhite, who is nobody’s fool. And they all are plagued by Haywood Slogett, the curmudgeon from across the road who loathes their “trailer-trash” ways.
