Life in Richland: Hanford Workers and Their Families Walking Tour – June 5, 2024

Meet in front of the Uptown Theater in the Uptown Shopping Center (Richland)

Join a Manhattan Project National Historical Park ranger on a free 2.5 mile (4 km) guided walk around the neighborhoods near the Uptown Shopping Center in Richland, WA. Learn about daily life in Richland and the homes, shopping districts, and green spaces built for Manhattan Project workers and their families during World War II. The design of the town reflected the need to create a livable community for some of the thousands of workers required for the top-secret plutonium production work at Hanford.

Battle Vest Fest – June 7-9, 2024

The Rays Golden Lion Family and SPEW are bringing you Battle Vest Fest 2024! A three day fest June 7th-9th. Our goal is to give you all an affordable adventure through the metal, punk, and rock scene here in the Tri Cities! Now we couldn’t do it without our friends traveling in for support from all over the PNW like The Scoffs, Vicious Cycle, Rotting In Place, The Disorderlies, and Mikey Muffins! Rays and SPEW are bringing us together to create a head banging rager that will be the highlight of your summer. Tri Town Get Down – June 7-9, 2024

Tri-Cities’ first true music festival wowed the Uptown last year with headliner Afroman, and is returning for an even larger production in its second year. Tri Town Get Down has more than 100 performers, including a majority from the PNW and some big-name headliners.

LIGO Hanford Observatory Public Tour – June 8, 2024

LIGO Hanford Observatory is pleased to announce that it has resumed its “Second Saturday” free public tours. During your visit you will have a chance to explore many interactive and static exhibits now housed in LHO’s new LIGO Exploration Center (LExC). Tours include a one-hour walking tour of the site, time inside the new LIGO Exploration Center (LExC), and a talk by a staff member. LIGO tours are suitable for all ages. The talks are appropriate for visitors aged 12 and up, but all ages are welcome. Multiple tour times are available for your convenience, please choose the time slot that works best for you when reserving your ticket.

Paranormal Cirque – June 14-17, 2024

Paranormal Cirque, a Cirque Italia production, will be in Kennewick from June 14 to 17, with two performances on Saturday and Sunday. The immersive two-hour long show features traditional circus acts with horrific twists, like porcelain doll contortionists and a juggling serial killer/barber character – basically a “Vegas-quality, R-rated horror circus.” All are welcome at the shows – at least, all ages 18 and up. Ages 13 to 17 are welcome with a parent or guardian, at their discretion. The show includes adult language and themes and “isn’t for the faint of heart.”

Cool Desert Nights – June 21 & 22, 2024

Uptown Plaza in Richland

The Richland Chamber of Commerce is proud to bring Cool Desert Nights back to Richland for the 2024 season. Starting with a traditional car cruise in Richland, Cool Desert Nights also includes a Party in the park, car show and pancake breakfast.

Traditional Friday night cruise will be at 6 p.m. starting at the Federal Building Parking lot and will go north on George Washington Way, loop into the Uptown Plaza and back down, George Washington Way. Ending back at John Dam Plaza for “Party in the Park.” Live music, kid zone, food trucks, beer garden, and a late registration option will be available.

Saturday morning the Richland Kiwanians will be hosting their famous pancake breakfast in Jefferson Park from 7 a.m.-11 a.m. Show n Shine will begin at 9 a.m. Cars will be parked in Jefferson Park and the Uptown Plaza, volunteers will be onsite to direct participants where to park. Music, food vendors, merchants, kid zones, and winners presentation at 3 p.m.

Free Family Bike Ride at Riverview Park – June 29, 2024

All ages welcome

We will once again kick off our 4th of July celebration with the Free Family Bike Ride. Join us at Riverview Park on Saturday, June 29th beginning at 8 a.m. All ages are welcomed to trek the distance of either 2 miles, 4 miles, 5.25 miles, or 7 miles. Participant will receive a punch card that they will take to each check point. At each point your card will be marked to indicate that you reached that specific point and can now move on to the next check point or finish line. We will have refreshments and goodies at the finish line for all participants. Stick around until 10:00 a.m. for the door prize drawings.

Please plan according to your pace and the pace of your family as the event will end at 10:00 a.m. This means that you and your family will need to be back at the finish line no later than 10:00 a.m.
